Fosrenol Lowered My Phosphorous Level
The level of phosphorous in my blood was too high. I tried several medications, but the phosphate level remained high at 11.0. The targeted range is under 5.5. I switched to Fosrenol, and my levels improved. They are all within normal range since switching to Fosrenol. My phosphate level is down to 3.5 which is the lowest point of normal range. This medicine tastes like Tums and is easier to take than some of the other medications that I tried. I had been taking Renagel to try to lower the phosphorous level, but it caused horrible nausea for me. I take the chewable Fosrenol tablets before meals.

No More Nausea
I am in end stage renal failure. I was having a lot of problems with nausea from my medication. At dialysis, another kidney patient was talking about how Fosrenol worked for her and lowered her phosphorus level to the target range. I talked to my doctor about Fosrenol. He suggested that I mash the Fosrenol and mix it in applesauce to avoid feeling nauseous from it. I have been taking it for two months now. The Fosrenol has lowered my phosphate level to what my doctor says it should be. I have not had any stomach problems from the Fosrenol.
