Taking Vemlidy for Hepatitis B
My doctor and I were concerned that Vemlidy may cause a rise in my cholesterol and triglycerides. My doctor informed me that some people have been experiencing raised cholesterol from Vemlidy, and I already have higher than normal cholesterol. However, after taking Vemlidy for months, my high numbers have actually gotten a bit lower. I dont know if this is due to Vemlidy or if Vemlidy just isnt affecting me that way and my diet and exercise is helping reduce my cholesterol. When I first started taking Vemlidy, I had some occasional episodes when I experienced itchiness all over my body. That itchiness subsided in a few weeks. I dont have any side effects from Vemlidy currently. My treatment for Hepatitis B seems to be going well. My viral load has decreased considerably. This medication has brought my liver enzymes to normal. My doctor and I are very happy about these changes. I will continue to take Vemlidy and keep an eye on my cholesterol numbers. Of course, I will keep doing what I can to reduce my cholesterol. This medication is also more affordable than similar medications that I have been on in the past.
