When first diagnosed, I went on metro for 10 days, 4x a day. It did not work. Then I was given a 1 day dose of Alinia, and had immediate relief. I’ve been on a 2g stat dose of Alinia a few times now. For violent bouts of uncontrolled and explosive diarrhea caused by suspected protozoal infections this stuff works amazingly, and quickly. I feel much better after two days of Alinia, and stomach discomfort is gone. Side effects of the meds for me are weird taste in mouth, slightly sleepy after taking the medicine.

Works for diarrhea
I started having terrible diarrhea within a few days. It continued for two weeks before I went to the doctor. I lost 14 pounds in two weeks. The doctor also gave me cipro. Within 12 hours my diarrhea stopped and I started to feel better. To me this is a miracle drug. I am not sure how must longer I could have gone without being admitted to the hospital. The side effects are lesser and tolerable as day goes by. Diarrhea did not come back and will go back to doctor for follow up.
