Debating vaccination for a child
I was really concerned about exposing my child to the Varicella virus but the thought of having my child being infected with some illness that used to be very common, is just dreadful. Chickenpox looks like a rash with red bumps and blisters, and it is horrendous. Varivax is a chickenpox vaccine that last for about 10 years. I had my one year old child vaccinated with Varivax. The doctor said it was safe to administer it to my child. I got some peace of mind knowing that my child has been vaccinated. Varicella can be fatal if left untreated and it is really uncomfortable if you have it.

Precautionary measure against Chickenpox
Last weekend I was at my cousins house. One of her kids seemed to be a little sickly. I asked what was wrong with Tommy. My cousin told me he had chickenpox. At the time I didnt think much of it but then I started panicking. I couldnt remember if I had been vaccinated against chickenpox. I called my doctor in the morning and told him about my worries. My doctor told me to come over and gave me Varivax. He said that even if Ive been exposed, as a precautionary measure I could take the vaccine and it would protect me. I havent had any breakouts, so far I am on the clear and its been three weeks. My advice, if you dont know if you have been vaccinated it doesnt hurt to ask your doctor and get a booster.
