My doctor put me on Valsartan as a preventative method because of my high blood pressure and family history. He was really worried that I was going to end up having a heart attack if something did not change. Lifestyle changes of course were recommended, but that was not enough. When you have the heart and stroke problems in your genes, you have to be proactive at preventing the damage before it happens and be a step ahead of it or have a surprise heart attack.
