Low immune system and pre existing infection
After being treated for liver problems I had flu symptoms that just werent going away. My doctor told me that because of the procedure my immune system was low. I thought that was the end of it but then the medicine didnt work. My muscles ached and my throat was inflamed. I went back for a checkup and this time they drew some blood. They found parasites that cause a disease called toxoplasmosis. I was given Daraprim and sulfonamide to treat the infection. It seems that the parasite has been in my body for quite a while but it usually doesnt give out symptoms unless the immune system is compromised. Muscle aches and flu symptoms due to the parasites are now gone after taking Daraprim as prescribed.

Parasitic infection in the eyes
Bright light was hurting my eyes. At times my eyes looked red. I was having blurred vision. The eye doctor told me I had ocular toxoplasmosis. It seems I got a parasitic infection from eating or drinking something contaminated with the parasite. It could be from birth but this was not the case with me. I was taking Daraprim twice a day, once after breakfast and again after dinner. It made me nauseous; taking it with my meal alleviates some of the side effects. After a few days I was feeling better.
