My dad has been a patient of parkinsonism and we have seen him through his worst. The tremors, shaking and rigidity all have been difficult to cope with. He always had a good health and this struck him as very devastating.he was given the usual treatment with levodopa/carbidopa. Initially they both gave good results but somehow with the passage of time, the effects somehow weaned off. Or the drugs became less potent. It was then that the doctor put him on comtan alongwith levodopa/carbidopa. He then maintained a sustained period of symptom free spell.

Necessary drug for parkinsonism
I think it is a drug quite necessary for parkinsonism. Once his doctor stopped his comtan for some problems he was having, the symptoms sprang up again. He was rigid and difficult to manage again. So we quickly put him back on his old regime and it solved the matters for us. We were more than happy to see him well again. In the start when we tried taking the medicine, he developed a little gastric discomfort which too settled with time. We are now continuing with 200mg of this drug alongwith his previously described medicines.
