Myozyme is a Great Long-term Therapy
I was diagnosed Pompe disease when I was around 15 years old. It was pretty scary at first because I didnt know what was wrong with my. I noticed I had a lot of weakness in my arms and legs. I notices it the most in my legs. Walking up stairs or climbing anything became very difficult. The muscles in my chest also seemed very weak so breathing can be difficult. It takes hold a lot faster that way; a pill would be broken down by my stomach too much and the protein destroyed. By injecting in to my bloodstream, the protein maintains its maximum strength. Its not a one time treatment option. It continually replaces the enzyme that I dont produce and that causes me so many problems. I highly recommend that you use this medication if you have Pompe disease.
