Seems to Work Without Severe Side Effects
I am a middle-aged male with a history of paroxysmal AFib. My doctor had me take a low dose aspirin, but then he switched me to Eliquis. Both aspirin and Eliquis have a risk of causing bleeding, and I have experienced some bruising. However, the effectiveness seems to be worth the risk right now. The mild bruising is the only side effect that I had from Eliquis. This is a very affordable medication. My insurance covers most of the cost. I like that this medication is easy to use without diet restrictions that some similar medications require.

Very Easy to Take
I am thankful for this medication. I am taking Eliquis for Afib. I have been on Eliquis for 4 years. I take a 5mg tablet two times a day. Before taking this medication, I had to have an injection of Clexane before traveling by plane. Eliquis eliminated the need for that injection. I have to avoid any over-the-counter medications including ibuprofen or pseudoephedrine while taking Eliquis, so I have to be careful when choosing a pain reliever or cold medicine. Other than that, this medication is very easy to take and I’m satisfied with it.

Printed out the $10.00 co-pay card for Eliquis. Found out from the Walmart pharmacy I was not eligible due to being on Medicare Part D. Saw it in the fine print later. Seemed strange to me. Had to pay $85.00 even though not working or employed and on a Medicare Advantage Plan. So, please take me off the card plan. My RxBin is 610524 and the Cap is 5077682. Guess it is not meant to be unless one has regular insurance.
Yes I think it’s pretty sad that the elderly get screwed on this deal. Most of them pay anywhere from 75.00 to 85.00 a month when they could be getting it for 10.00. Just another way our government is sticking it to them.

I am on Medicare and went to renew my prescription tonight. Because of the drug gap in insurance I have to pay from $47 co pay to $168/mo in the gap coverage of insurance. When on a fixed income that is not easy. And I understand you cannot get a discount if you are on Medicare. But yet people that are on government Badger Care pay nothing! Seniors are screwed again by government.

My dad had to take Eliquis and they want 300.00 for a 30 day supply. His doctor has been giving him free boxes, but that will end next month. My dad is 82 years old and he barely lives with his monthly income. I think the companies who make medicine should have a limit as to what they are allowed to sell their goods for. I guess if you can’t afford it you die. My dad spends 189.00 a month for his other pills. Very sad indeed. This is what I have to look forward to.

have you tried getting your dad on that program where social security helps with the monthly insurance premiums and cost of drugs……..EXTRA HELP is a medicare program to help people with limited income and resources pay medicare prescription drug costs. you may qualify if your yearly income and resources are below these limits…

married person living with a spouse and no other dependents – income less than $24,030 and resources less than $27,250/year
your other option is to call the manufacture of Eliquis…..which is what I did for my aunt. They sent me a form to apply for special assistance to obtain this durg…but of course there are restrictions on that as well. I haven’t had time to read that form just yet….but check it out!!!

Father in law just paid $338.60 for 60 pills of Eliquis, same day my mother in laws Delzicol was $402 for a month. They are on Medicare with Blue cross as supplement. How is anyone supposed to afford this? They are on a fixed income. This Medicare gap, or hole is ridiculous. The worst part, is they had to borrow the money, and they are so upset about not being able to afford their meds, my mother in law was crying and stated , “Just makes you wish you were dead”. They worked all their lives, and retired from working at a hospital. One in maintenance, the other in house keeping. Is this the ‘golden years’ we all work so hard to get too?
The copay card on the website states it expires on 12/31/2015 in fine print. Went to the pharmacy and had to pay $400 for a 30 day supply. Tried to order another one and denied. This is bad marketing to send a card in the mail afer it was already expired.
My Health Insurance though AARP has refused Eliquis. This is not for real. I was hospitalized with congential heart failure and then open heart surgery. Eliquis worked with no problem.

All drug companies should be investigated and their books and their CEOs faces made public. The prices they charge are so outrageous very few can afford them. I suggest their CEOs try to live on what I receive from Social Security for a month to see if they could afford any of these new drugs. I can barely afford food, let alone drugs. Of course they don’t care that the elderly cannot afford their drugs. The only thing they care about is the all mighty dollar. American has become so money driven that we no longer care about our fellow man. We, the elderly, do have value. We still contribute to society. We mentor out families. We still teach our grandchildren life skills that they do not get in school. I would like to live longer so I can continue to mentor my flock of grandchildren. I would like to see them marry and have children of their own. I would like to see them be successful. I do not want to lay down and die to please a drug company. I choose life.

There are companies in Canada that charge about $ 150 for 60 pills of Eliquis.
My co-pay card was rejected because the company said my insurance was government. It is not. The name of insurance co is Washington state prescription services. This is a commercial insurance. can’t get authorization as of 12/12/16. My card is good until December 2017. I have Afib and am going in for cardiac ablation Jan.30,2017. My rxpcn loyalty Id 474728564. Was told they were in talks with whoever. Meantime I can’t get my rx filled. Is there another company or is it Bristol-Myers.
My husband is on chemo and now he was given a prescription for Eliquis, the pharmacy tried to get us the $10 a month or Thirty day free for the first time and we were not able to get it because we are on Medicare, and we pay $275 a month for AARP plus prescription and still today they wanted $180. Depending on what your health condition that Eliquis is required asked your doctor if you can take aspirin or herb supplement. I am on eliquis for DVT. Those of you that read this may hate me because I got to use the Eliquis coupons. but after certain dollar amount is reached on the card at that point it ends and comes out of pocket. I am very Thank full that I got the eliquis cards cause I am disabled and fixed small income. yes the cards only works with certain insurances. We barely can afford insurance. This is one of those times when it is not the US government that is the problem. It is the greed of the drug manufacturers. It is the drug companies’ policies that if you have any government support for prescriptions such as Medicare or Medicaid then you are not eligible for the coupon benefit.
However, the drug manufacturers are one of the most powerful and wealthy lobbying groups in DC. As such they have so much influence that our senators and reps on both sides of the aisle listen to what they want and give it to them. Therefore, drug companies have no limits as to how much they can charge for their meds or how they can write their own company policies that hurt those of us who need help the most. My adult son who is deaf and blind qualifies for the extra help from the government as mentioned above. That is super for him and a very good US policy.

I had to to pay $1283..11 forElliqis for a 3 moths supply found later on there wed site they offer a discount from your health care provider which would’ve cost $288.67 for a 30 day supply and co.pay of $10.dollars for 30 day supply plus it could be used against..this would’ve been less expensive this way have been told ahead of time.no I have ask my health care doctor why wasn’t this mention when I had my exam .

Probably the majority of Eliquist and Xarelto users are retired and covered by Medicare. According to a call I made to J&J, Medicare is responsible for exempting Medicare people from participating in these rebate programs. We all need to contact our senators and complain about this inequity. I’m from Florida and will be calling Senator Rubio.

Both my husband and I are on Eliquis due to A-fib but we are on Medicare and have Part D coverage. In January we both have to pay over $415.00 each for a 30-day supply and then we pay $42.00 each per month until we hit the donut hole. Then we have to pay $253.00 per month each. It is ridiculous that the people who need help the most end up paying the most out of their own pockets. Something needs to be done, especially as much as we pay for our Medicare and supplement insurance.
