For Stiffness Resulting from Parkinson’s disease
After being on Apokyn for about 3 months, the effects of this drug are great. My father has been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for some time and Apokyn has been prescribed to help with the debilitating muscle stiffness he suffers from late in the day. Apokyn seems to help with this and allows him to make it through the later day without painful stiffness. There was some nausea associated with the drug in the beginning; however, it subsided after a few doses and is no longer troublesome. Dosage had to be adjusted in the beginning to stop feelings of lethargy. However, after dosage was tweaked, Apokyn has been very beneficial to my father and he is able to be participate in daily activities as before without feelings soreness and stiffness that were previously prohibiting him from participation late in the day.
In fact, after only a few days of use, my father was back to feeling good enough for his after dinner walk and not feeling that he needed to continue sitting in his chair. Apokyn has been a wonderful addition to my father’s medication and has been helpful in allowing him to feel better and keep his activity level where he likes it to be with minimal side effects.
