Fleas Be Gone
My wife and my kids talked me into getting a puppy, so now we are the proud new owners of a Chiwennie. Since this dog is spending most of his indoors, I was worried he would bring fleas into the house. I was right. I noticed him scratching a lot and I discovered fleas.

I went to the pet store with the intention of buying a good old fashion flea collar. I asked one of the ladies working at the Vets office in the store about the best way to get rid of fleas. She recommended a once a month flea medicine. She also told me that the medicines that had been out a while were not as effective anymore since the fleas were building up a resistance to the medicine. She recommended Activyl as the best once a month flea treatment. I was doubtful this type of medicine would work.

I have been using this for several months now and so far I we have had no fleas. So far there have been no negative side effects. I have not noticed the dog scratching at the spot I apply the medicine and he hasnt lost any hair, in fact, it doesnt seem to bother him at all.
I give him a bath at least one every two weeks and sometimes once a week and the baths have not affected the medicine. He stays flea free for the entire month.
